A fool is considered wise until they open their mouth and remove all doubt.

We all do it in some form or another. Is it to cover our dark dealings? Or to save face? Or, even, to lessen the anguish another may feel about our misdeeds? I’ve lied. I’ve learned it’s better to be truthful even through hurt and disappointment. We obscure true at eventual harm to us both.

Sometimes the truth hurts. Yet we won’t deny it when presented. We’ll deal with the truth of it. Even when we know you’re lying, we still lie. Why? A pickle no doubt. Some know your lying and turn a blind eye. Some will speak on it. Some can deal with truth and others will struggle.

There are honorable people amongst us that still fib. Can a person accept a lie because they understand a person’s character and the just of why? Can you forgive a man amongst many men that make mistakes? Or will you hold a grudge and judge them strictly on your hurt?

A lie…a tricky thing that we’re all apt to do in some form or another. It said that the truth will make you free, John 8:31 – but this saying didn’t mention that it’d hurt. I apologize for lying. I’m prone to it because I’m flawed.

I reap what I’ve sowed and my decisions and their consequences are my own. Why do we lie? Because the truth is much scarier than our falsehoods. We aim to avoid conflict but cause even more in this endeavor. We lie because it is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Marianne Williamson.
